Kathleen Ann Cooper 332 E. Maitland Lane, New Castle, went home to be with Our Lord, held in the arms of the angels she believed in and loved. She was 59.
She was born in Ellwood City on August 27, 1950 the daughter of Isaac E. and Mary Lou Johnson George.
She graduated from Neshannock High School in 1968.
Kathleen worked as an office manager at Abraham and Petrini Insurance Agency Inc., New Castle. She had more than 30 years experience. A crafter, she owned her own business called Oneofakind Design.
She was a member of Highland Presbyterian Church, New Castle.
Kathleen was a loving wife, daughter, sister, mother and grandmother who enjoyed vacationing and spending time at the beach, her family will miss her dearly.
Her husband Wilber H. Cooper whom she married on December 17, 1995 survives at home.
She also leaves her parents, Isaac E. and Stepmother Helen L. George, her son, Paul Isaac Berkley, all of New Castle; her brothers Thomas Alan George and his wife Jeannene, Hollidaysburg, Daniel Lee Broschart and his wife Mary Ann, Pulaski, Pa., and William Cooper and his wife Erica, Coco Beach, Florida; her sisters, Nancy L. Cushanick and her husband Garry, and Karen S. McIlvenny and her husband Joseph, all of New Castle. Two grandchildren, Krista Marie Berkley (9) and Brendynn Scott Cooper,(9) and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Lou Johnson George, and a son, Thomas Daniel Jackson.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest that memorial contributions be made to the Sharon Regional Hospice and Palliative Care 2320 Highland Road, Hermitage, PA 16148, or to the American Cancer Society, 3208Wilmington Road, New Castle, PA 16105.
In keeping with Kathleen's wishes, there will be no visitation.
A memorial service will be celebrated Friday (3-26-10) in Highland Presbyterian Church, New Castle, Pa. at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Willis Kearns officiating.
