Kathleen "Kat" Marie Arnett, 43, of Church Road, Slippery Rock Township, passed away unexpectedly at 6:48 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 23, 2014, following a brief and courageous battle with cancer. Kathleen was born July 1, 1971, in New Castle. She was one of two daughters born to Gerald L. and Susan L. Stickel Arnett. A lifelong area resident, she was a member of Laurel High School's graduating class of 1990. She later earned her Associate in Specialized Business Degree at the Erie Business Center, New Castle. She worked 13 years for Lawrence County Chiropractic as a secretary and 19 years for Marty's Suburban Bar and Grill in Cranberry Township. Kathleen loved rooting for her Pittsburgh Steelers and was an avid reader. She loved listening to country music and the "big hair" songs of the 1980s. Cranberry ginger ale or Jack Daniels was her drink of choice. A loving daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece and cousin, she loved and was loved my many friends, customers and coworkers. Kat or "Aunt Deen" was especially proud of her nephew Eddie, a United States Marine. She is survived by her mother, Susan L. (Stickel) Arnett; her maternal grandparents, Everett "Sam" and Nancy (DeLorenzo) Stickel; a sister, Jennifer L. (Arnett) Cracraft and Edwin L. Cracraft III, all with whom she made her home; her nephew, Lance Cpl. Edwin L. Cracraft IV, USMC, Fort Lee, Va.; a maternal aunt, Catherine (Stickel Rowe) Einsporn and her husband, Tom, of New Castle; maternal uncle, David Stickel, and his wife, Roseanne, Shenango Township; and a host of cousins who she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Clair and May Arnett; an uncle, John Stickel; a cousin, Matthew Rowe; and her great-grandparents, Samuel and Edith Stickel Gongaware. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 28, and 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Saturday in the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 111 W. Falls St. Internment will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Slippery Rock Township.
