Obituary

Katherine Olshavsky Varsho of Hermitage, passed away peacefully at 6:31 a.m., Tuesday, September 6th, 2011, after an extended illness. She was 86.

Mrs. Varsho was born April 1st, 1925, in Clarksville, PA, to the late Michael and Mary Semanko Olshavsky. She attended the former Bethel School House, in Pulaski PA.

She worked at Westinghouse Electric Corporation Sharon, as a coil winder and a drill press operator, then to Packard Electric, Warren OH as a harness maker and a drill press/ARTIS cutter, where she retired. She enjoyed crocheting and vacationing. Her greatest loves were her grandsons and her great-grand children. She was a member of St. John's Carptho-Russian Orthodox Church, Cedar Avenue, Sharon.

Her husband of 64 years, George Varsho, is at home. They were married in May 1947.

Katherine is survived by her husband, daughters Katherine Yonchak and her husband Gary, Masury, OH; Georgieanna Alfredo and her husband John, Sharpsville PA; grandsons, Attorney John D. Alfredo and Edward J. Alfredo, both of Sharpsville, and Doctor Michael S. Yonchak DMA of Westerville OH. Great-grandchildren are Gina, Joey, Aris, Carmen, John Carlo, and Domenic Alfredo.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters Mary Marshall, Margaret Gaydos, Helen Sisko, Dorothy Barbara Olshavsky; her brothers Michael, Steven, George, and Joseph Olshavsky, and an infant grandson, George Edward Alfredo.

Services: A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 1:30 p.m. on Friday (9-9-11) with Rev. David Mastroberte, pastor of the church, and Rev. Michael Polanichka, retired pastor co officiating.

Internment: St. John's Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Church Cemetery, Hermitage PA.
