Katharina Petrovich of Sharon passed away at
3:22 p.m.
Monday, March 7, 2016, in Nugent Convalescent Home, Hermitage, after an extended illness.
She was 82.
Mrs. Petrovich was born September 24, 1933, in the Ukraine, a daughter of Robert and Eugenia Bobenko Fischer.
She moved to the United States in 1951 and was a self employed hairdresser for many years.
Katharina was an active member of St. Anthony's Church, Sharon; and the Democrat Women of Mercer County.
Surviving are: her husband, Vinko Petrovich, whom she married July 22, 1980; two daughters, Tammy Lee Fuchs and Mary Kay Fuchs, both Sharon; two sons, John Fuchs and his wife Mary Jo, Butler, PA; and Anthony Fuchs, Sharon; seven grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; two sisters, Emilie Gangale and her husband Dominic; and Emma Fischer, all of Boardman, OH; and three brothers, Edward Fischer, Sharon; Rudy Fischer and his wife Susie Ann, Oklahoma; and Ralph Fischer and his wife Evelyn, North Carolina.
Katharina was preceded in death by her parents and an infant son, Edward.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Anthony's Church, 804 Idaho St., Sharon, PA 16146.
Per Katharina's request, there are no calling hours.
Private Funeral Mass of Christian burial will be held in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cemetery chapel, Hermitage, with Rev. Joseph Campbell, pastor of St. Anthony's Church, Sharon, as celebrant.
Interment: Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Hermitage. Arrangements by J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon.
