Dr. K. Donald Stoudt, 88, of Hermitage, passed away on Thursday afternoon, May 21, 2026.

Don was born on May 24, 1937, in Reading, PA, the only child of the late Karl I. and Gertrude Elizabeth (Simmons) Stoudt. He was a graduate of Muhlenberg High School, where he was a standout quarterback. Don attended the University of Colorado, Boulder, and earned his medical degree from Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University in 1964. He was honorably discharged from the United States Navy in 1963.

He practiced as a family physician for more than 55 years. During his tenure as a physician, Don spent the majority of his career working with Dr. Samuel Woodings in private practice. During his career, he provided medical services to patients at Sharon Regional, employees of Sharon Steel, Hubbard Medical Clinic, and served as an assistant coroner for Mercer County. Don took call for more than 50 years, provided assistance to countless patients, and spent many years of his early practice delivering babies.

Don was an instrument-rated private pilot and flew planes into his 70s. He had a passion for boating, keeping a boat at the Shenango Reservoir for most of his life. He taught all of his children how to water ski and snow ski. He spent many summers at the lake boating and many winter months on the slopes with his family. He was a competitive handball player, loved sports cars, motorcycles and airplanes, and enjoyed the Indianapolis 500 and airshows. He was a long-time member of the University Club and the Buhl Club.

Don was a member of St. Joseph’s Church, Sharon.

He married the former Joan Kracirik on July 18, 1970. He enjoyed being a father to his five children, Daniel Stoudt (Cindy), Donald Stoudt, David Stoudt, Douglas Stoudt (Mary Ann), and Andrea Thiry (Matthew). He also enjoyed being a grandfather to Carla (Brandon), Dan, Ashley, Michael (Fidan), Douglas, Will, Helena, Wesley, Hunter, and Aiden, and a great-grandfather to Sophia and Chloe.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be directed to Buhl Park, 715 Hazen Rd., Hermitage, PA 16148.

In keeping with Don's wishes, all services were held privately.
