Karl F. Orndorff of S. Pymatuning Township passed away peacefully under hospice care at 10:20 p.m. Wednesday (10-12-16) in his son's home in Hermitage with his family by his side. He was 82.
Mr. Orndorff was born September 13, 1934, in Sharon, a son of Ernest and Mary Nehlen Orndorff.
A lifelong area resident, he was raised in what was then Hickory Township and attended Hickory High School. Karl was employed by Wheatland Tube Co. for 43 years and retired as a bar mill line inspector in 1996.
He was a member of Sharon Baptist Church, Hermitage.
Karl was president of S. Pymatuning Township Little League during the 1970's and served as a coach in its minor league division.
He was a member of the S. Pymatuning Township Volunteer Fire Department and a longtime member of the Sharon Carpo Russ Athletic Association. He and his wife enjoyed bowling in the mixed doubles league at Sharpsville Bowling Lanes.
Karl enjoyed football and was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and The Ohio State Buckeyes. He also liked the Pittsburgh Pirates, hunting and fishing, gardening and picking strawberry's to give to his family members.
He was a great father and grandfather and his greatest joy was attending his grandchildren's athletic and scholastic events.
His wife, the former Cecelia Marie Pullar, whom he married June 30, 1954, passed away September 11, 2014.
Surviving are: a daughter, Carla M. Lukonic and her husband Jeffrey M., Sharpsville; a son, Ronald E. Orndorff and his wife Angela J., Hermitage; five grandchildren who he adored, Joshua Horn and his wife Samantha; Nicholas A. Orndorff and his wife Sarah; Noah J. Orndorff; and Cassandra M. and Logan M. Lukonic; and 5 great grandchildren, Nicholas, Trenton, Landon, Cailyn and Silas. He also leaves a sister, Carol Snyder, Hermitage; two brothers, Robert Orndorff, West Middlesex; and Thomas Orndorff and his wife Paula, Fredonia; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his wife, Karl was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Shirley Sanitate and Beverly Frazier; two brothers, his twin Kenny Orndorff and William Orndorff; sisters-in-law, Marge Orndorff, Val Orndorff and Shirley Orndorff; and brothers-in-law, James Snyder, Matt Sanitate and Robert Frazier.

Calling hours will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday (10-15-16) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, in the funeral home, with Rev. Kevin Orndorff, nephew of Karl's and pastor of Temple Baptist Church, DuBois, Pa., officiating. Interment: West Side Cemetery, S. Pymatuning Township.
