Karen V. Rosati, of Farrell, passed away Thursday afternoon (4-2-15) in UPMC Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh, following an extended illness. She was 72. Mrs. Rosati was born Oct. 24, 1942, in Jamestown, N.Y., a daughter of George and Mary (Rashid) Rafeedie. She was a graduate of the former Rayen High School, Youngstown. Karen and her husband owned and operated Razzcal's, Inc. on Roemer Boulevard, Farrell for nearly 20 years and previously owned and operated Our Gang's Lounge, Sharpsville Avenue, Sharon, which they established in the 1980s. Karen previously worked at the former John Schuster's Steak House, Masury, and the former Jerry Chic's Eagle Grille, Hermitage. She was a member of St. Adalbert's Church, Farrell. She was also a member and former officer of the American Business Women's Association (ABWA). She enjoyed playing bocce at the Italian Home and the American Legion, both Farrell, and attending her grandson's athletic events. Surviving are: her husband of 33 years, Louis Rosati; a daughter, Chris Cannone and her husband Nick, Hermitage; three grandsons, Anthony, Nicholas and Matthew Cannone; a brother, George K. Rafeedie, Fairview Heights., Ill.; a niece, Jacquelyn and a nephew, George Rafeedie. Karen was preceded in death by her parents. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Adalbert's Church, 1035 Fruit Ave., Farrell, PA 16121; or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
