Karen L. Cipriano of Shenango Township passed away at 8:25 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 4, 2015, in her home, after a valiant two-year battle with cancer. She was 61. Mrs. Cipriano was born Nov. 23, 1953, in Sharon, a daughter of George and Thelma Bacon Parkany. She was raised in the Patagonia section of Hermitage and was a 1971 graduate of Hickory High School. Karen was the assistant manager at Vitamin World in the Grove City Premium Outlets, where she had been employed since its opening. She previously worked for Seaway Foods Inc. and D'Onofrio's Food Center, Hermitage. Always one to keep busy, Karen enjoyed baking, crocheting, yard work and gardening. Surviving are: her husband, Robert Cipriano, whom she married Aug. 25, 1973, at home; a daughter, Natalie Marie Carroll and her husband, James, Cranberry Township, Butler County; a son, Brian Anthony Cipriano, Fairfax, Va.; and a grandson, Tyler Joseph Carroll. She also leaves: two sisters, Barbara Graham and her husband, Edward, Warren, Ohio, and Tammy Parkany, Hermitage; her mother- in-law, Stella Marie Cipriano; a sister- and brother-in-law, Karen and Ron Donatelli, all Hermitage; a niece; and two nephews. Karen was preceded in death by her parents and her father-in-law, Andrew Cipriano. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
