June C. Lynch of 610 E. Washington St. New Castle, Pa. passed away at 2:18 p.m. Tuesday (10-6-09) in the hospital of Jameson Health System following an extended illness. She was 87.
June was born on June 24, 1922 in Akron, Ohio, a twin daughter of Floyd and Hazel Blanch Fee Hall.
She attended Schools in Akron, Ohio.
She worked as the manager of Jameson Hospital's hostess shop for twenty years and retired in 1987.
She enjoyed vacationing in Florida over the years where she served as Past President of the Brooksville Veterans of Foreign Wars Women's Auxiliary.
June was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, and great great grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family.
Her first husband Joseph L. Stevenson whom she married in December 31, 1939,passed away July 20, 1976. Her second husband Thomas Lynch whom she married on August 29, 1980, passed away on September 7, 2003.
She leaves her three daughters, Constance E. Kennedy, and Janice E. Arrow, both New Castle, and Debra K. Haybarger, Colorado Springs, CO; three step sons, Thomas Mitchell, and Daniel Mitchell, both Kittanning; James Lynch, Volant, a step daughter, Judy A. Frates, Melbourne, Fl; 10 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, 8 great great grandchildren. She also leaves her 27 step grandchildren, 40 step great great grandchildren, and 1 step great great grandchild.
In addition to her two husbands and her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Joseph L. Stevenson, a grandson Thomas McMasters, a granddaughter Beth Ann Haybarger, a brother, Floyd E. Hall, three sisters, Clella Casteel, her twin Dawn Strizak, and one infant sister Loraine.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday (10-11-09) from 2 to 5 p.m. in the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. 111 West Falls Street, New Castle, Pa.
