Obituary

June Bianco, Sharpsville, formerly of South Oakland Avenue, Sharon, passed away peacefully of natural causes with her family at her side on Thursday (6-23-11) at 9:20 a.m. in the Critical Care Unit at UPMC Horizon Hospital, Farrell. She was 88.

Mrs. Bianco was born June 10, 1923, in Walston, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Grover and Verda Jane Siverling Haag.

She graduated from Punxsutawney High School. June moved to the Shenango Valley in 1954 at the age of 33.

A homemaker, she worked for the Sharon City School District for 20 years in their cafeteria and retired in 1984.

She was a member of St. Stanislaus Kostka - Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Sharon.

Mrs. Bianco enjoyed playing cards and bingo, working puzzle books, and knitting and crocheting white baby sized afghans for family and friends for holy christenings. A wonderful cook, she loved making meatballs and sauce for spaghetti dinners on Sunday's, baking bread, cookies, and Easter Bread, and preparing all the fish for the traditional Christmas Eve dinner. She enjoyed spending time with her family at the family camp 'All in the Family' in Marienville, Pa.

Her husband Peter J. Bianco, whom she married May 21, 1941, passed away February 5, 2001.

She is survived by one daughter, Patrice J. Palmer and her husband Jeffery T. Palmer, Hermitage; one son, Peter P. Bianco and his companion Ned Seeger, St. Petersburg, FL; two sisters, Mary Woodrow, Seattle, WA, and Connie Means, Columbia, MO; four grandchildren, Tyler Palmer and his wife Sarah, Cameron Palmer, Deborah Earl and her fiancé Charles Gulland, and Wayne J. Chamberlain and his wife Coleen; three great grandchildren, Courtney and Zachary Savchuk, and Anthony Parsch, and a son-in-law, Wayne Chamberlain.

In addition to her husband and her parents, Mrs. Bianco was preceded in death by two daughters, Loretta Chamberlain and Deborah Bianco; a son Francis Bianco; three brothers, Richard, Lee, and Grover Haag, and four sisters Eleanor 'Winnie' Whitfield, Bertha 'Buddy' Brickel, Edna McDonald, and Martha 'Marty' Magill; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the caring staff at UPMC Horizon Hospital, specifically the Critical Care Unit for their care and compassion shown towards their mother.

Services: A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday (6-27-11) at 12:00 p.m. in St. Stanislaus Kostka- Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Sharon, with Rev. Stanley J. Swacha, pastor as celebrant
