Obituary

Juliann M. Krickich, 94, of Hermitage passed away peacefully early Tuesday afternoon, September 24, 2024, in St. John XXIII Home.

On January 10, 1930, Juliann was born at her family home in Farrell to the late Vitus Nicholas and Mary Elizabeth (Chintella) Rehak. She graduated from St. Ann's Parochial Grade School where she was very active in the choir and band. Juliann later graduated from Farrell High School with the Class of 1947 where she played First Chair Clarinet in orchestra and was a member of the marching band.

Juliann was a devout Catholic and lifelong member of St. Ann's Catholic Church, later becoming a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church, both in Farrell. While at St. Ann's, she was active in the choir and volunteered in the kitchen for all church fundraisers.

Juliann earned her cosmetology license while in high school and kept her license active throughout her life. Her most rewarding work came from her time at the Sharon Medical Clinic. While at the clinic, she directly assisted Dr. Anthony Frye, Dr. Thomas Murray, Dr. Dale Rice, and Dr. John G. Wassil. Later in her life, Juliann worked as an associate at Willson's Furniture and The Winner, both in Sharon, as well as Cheena's Bridal Salon in Hermitage.

An avid gardener and photographer, Juliann was also an exceptional cook and talented baker. She loved supporting her children and grandchildren in their many endeavors, especially their athletic events and concerts. This passion inspired her to found several booster programs for athletic teams and the music/band department at Hickory High School in Hermitage. She also loved her Pittsburgh Steelers.

Juliann cherished her lifelong friends from "Card Club." She was a member of the Hickory Women's Club, and since birth, was a very proud member of Sokol Slovak Lodge.

Buhl Park held a very special place in Juliann's heart. Since she was a very young girl, she has had the fondest memories which she passed on to her children, and ultimately her grandchildren.

Her high school sweetheart and husband of 73 years, Walter Krickich, whom she married March 3, 1951, preceded her in death just eight weeks ago on July 31, 2024. Together, they shared deep passions for traveling, dancing, and most importantly, spending time with those they loved.

She will be remembered by many as the lady who continually spent time outdoors cutting her grass and tending to her fern and flower gardens.

Juliann is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Sich and her husband, William, Hermitage; a daughter-in-law, Alise Krickich, Acworth, GA; and three grandchildren, Alexis Elizabeth Sich, Alec Floyd and Zakary Jon Krickich.

In addition to her parents and husband, Juliann was preceded in death by her son, Dr. Walter Jon Krickich; and her father and mother-in-law, Spiro and Sophie Krickich.

The family would like to thank Dr. Gregory George, Sandy, and the staff of St. John XXIII Home, Hermitage, for their endless kindness and exceptional care.

The family suggests memorial contributions may be directed to Buhl Park, 715 Hazen Rd., Hermitage, PA 16148.

Calling hour will be 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday (9-28-24) in Our Lady of Fatima Church, 601 Roemer Blvd., Farrell. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.McGonigleFuneralHomeandCrematory.com.
