Service will be Tuesday for Julia H. Coon, formerly of Crawford Drive, Hermitage, who passed away at 8 a.m. Thursday (2-5-15) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. She was 83. Mrs. Coon was born Aug. 31, 1931, in Sharon, a daughter of Nicholas and Mary Krapacs Yourchisin. She was a lifelong area resident and attended Sharon schools. Julia retired in 1993 from Sharon Regional Health System, where she was employed in the central supply department for more than 20 years. She was a member of St. Michael's Byzantine Catholic Church, Hermitage, and enjoyed playing bingo. Her husband, Billy Coon Jr., whom she married July 31, 1953, passed away June 26, 1994. Surviving are: a daughter, Mary Irene Horton and her husband Tim, Umatilla, Fla.; two sons, Billy Coon, Sharon; and Richard N. Coon and his wife Paula, Hubbard; a daughter-in-law, Sara Foltz, Hubbard; three sisters, Betty Meszaros, Cranberry Township, Butler County; Peggy Evans, Sharon; and Rose Matvay and her husband Norman "Butch", Hermitage; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Julia was preceded in death by two sons, Jessie Coon, who was killed in Vietnam; and John Coon; a sister, Mary Hudspeth; a brother, Joseph Yourchisin; and a great-grandson, Ted Foltz.
