Judith D. Olson, 86, of North Beaver Twp., passed away unexpectedly Monday evening, February 10, 2025, in her home.

Mrs. Olson was born November 19, 1938, in New Castle, a daughter of the late Russel and Alene (Norris) Carlon. She was a 1956 graduate of New Castle High School, and in 1960, completed her undergraduate degree in History at Youngstown State University. In 1963, Judy completed her Master of Education degree at Westminster College where she studied History and English Literature.

Judy spent her entire teaching career at Mohawk School District, where she began teaching 7th and 8th grade history and spent the remainder of her tenure teaching 10th grade English. She retired in 1994 following 32 years of service.

Judy, an avid golfer, also enjoyed bowling and participated in several leagues. During downtime, she cross-stitched and listened to music, typically her big band jazz favorites.

Her husband of nearly 63 years, Raymond A. Olson, whom she married on May 21, 1960, preceded her in death on April 12, 2023.

Judy is survived by her daughter, Ann Olson (fiancé, Jason Landsbach), of Treasure Lake, PA; four grandchildren, Kelsey Oakes, Hannah Oakes, Joseph Oakes, Sophie Oakes; one great-granddaughter, Aurora Barrick; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Judy was preceded in death by her brother, Joel Carlon.

Calling hours will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday (2-13-25) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 111 W. Falls St., New Castle.

A time of reflection for family and friends will immediately follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral home.

Interment will be in Oak Park Cemetery, Neshannock Twp.
