Obituary

Judith Ann McGivern, of Sharon, formerly of Salineville, OH; passed away peacefully in her residence at 12:45 p.m. Friday, July 15, 2016, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 74.

Judy was born May 21, 1942, in Geneva, OH, a daughter of George H. and Ruth Ludlum Noles. She was raised in Salineville, OH, and attended Salineville High School.

Judy married Dennis W. McGivern on March 31, 1959, and moved to the Shenango Valley in 1965. He survives.

She was employed by the Sharon School District for 32 years, and for 20 years served as the Head Cook and Supervisor of the Musser Elementary School Cafeteria. Known by many as "Miss Judy", she always went above and beyond to take care of children in need.

Judy was of the Methodist Faith.

She was a member of the Mothers of Twins Club. Judy was a very artistic person whom enjoyed crafting ceramics, painting and collecting antiques. Judy was a fantastic cook, and always kept a lot of flowers and plants at her home. She loved an occasional scratch-off ticket, and trips to the casino with her husband, Dennis.

In addition to her husband, Dennis, she is survived by: three daughters, Denise A. (Vince) Passel, Sharon, PA; Colleen M. (Dave) Coxson, Spencer, OH; and Cathleen J. Bourne and her fiancé, Lance, New Castle, PA; one son, Dennis W. (Krista) McGivern II, Holly Springs, NC; three sisters, Carol Heckathorn, Jody (Steve) Alberson and Alma (Dennis) Sanor; two brothers, Richard (Marti) Noles and Lloyd (Lori) Noles. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren, two great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by: her parents and sister, Georgean Wilson.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society local chapter or to Sharon School District to help children in need.

A private memorial service will be held by the family at a later date.
