Joyce Anne (Lumpp) Latcheran, age 85, New Castle, passed away peacefully in Edison Manor on Christmas evening (12-25-11) following an extended illness.

She was born on August 5, 1926 in Youngstown, Ohio the daughter of George F. and Katherine Theresa Lumpp.

She graduated from Sharon High School in Sharon, Pennsylvania and in 1944 she matriculated To Saint Elizabeth Hospital's School of Nursing where she earned her certification to practice as a Registered Nurse. She was employed by several local hospitals and personal care facilities including St. Elizabeth's Medical Center, Jameson Memorial Hospital, the Lawrence County Home, Jack Reese Nursing Home and the Haven Nursing Home.

Her husband George Latcheran whom she married on June 14, 1948, preceded her in death. She is survived by three sons, Marc George of Calabash, NC; Gary Michael of Ashburn, VA; and Daniel Steven of Essex, VT, and their daughter, Katherine Theresa (Teri) Schweinebraten of Lubbock, TX. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a brother George Lumpp, and two sisters, Jean Sofranec and Ruth Lumpp.

The funeral arrangements are private and are under the direction of the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. 111 W. Falls St., New Castle. Interment will be at St. Joseph's Cemetary.
