Joyce P. Howell, 70, of Lowellville, OH, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes Monday afternoon, April 25, 2022, in her residence.

Joyce was born March 4, 1952, in New Castle, a daughter of Frank and Patricia (Tyrrell) Patterson, and graduated from Shenango High School in 1970.

For the last 32 years, Joyce has operated the Dairy 224 Convenience Store in Lowellville, OH, alongside her beloved companion, John Kotchmar.

In addition to shopping and caring for her customers at the store, Joyce loved planning fun events and going out for dinner with her family. Her greatest joy in life was being a grandmother to her three grandchildren.

Joyce is survived by her son, Russell L. Howell (Rebecca), of Hermitage; three grandchildren, Ella Howell, and Taige and Makenna Adler, also all of Hermitage; her longtime companion, John Kotchmar, of Lowellville, OH.

Joyce was preceded in death by her father, Frank Patterson; and mother, Patricia Patterson Roberts.

Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Friday (4-29-22) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 111 W. Falls St., New Castle.

The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, in the funeral home, with Pastor Randy Emmorey, officiating.
