IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Joyce Ann
Gee
January 8, 1939 – November 11, 2025
Joyce Ann Gee, 86, a resident of Ridgewood at Shenango Valley, Hermitage, passed away peacefully surrounded by family Tuesday afternoon, November 11, 2025, in UPMC Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA.
Mrs. Gee was born January 8, 1939, in Sharon, a daughter of the late Joseph William and Polly Leota (Brown) Knapp. Raised in Wheatland, she was a proud member of the 1957 graduating class from Sharon High School, and still attended various reunions and luncheons with the special girlfriends she met back then.
While in high school, Joyce met and later married the love of her life, Jon Oliver Gee, on February 20, 1954, at St. John's Episcopal Church, Sharon. They enjoyed nearly 65 years of marriage prior to his passing on January 26, 2019.
A homemaker, she was an active member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Sharon where she assisted with Vacation Bible School and the children's nursery for over 20 years.
Joyce's "claim to fame" was winning a Mother's Day makeover from Views and Voices, where she was featured on the front cover of the magazine. She shared a birthday with The King - Elvis Presley, and was a lifelong fan.
Joyce loved singing for family and friends at her home, especially the Tennessee Waltz and You Are My Sunshine. She also enjoyed memorializing wonderful family memories by creating beautiful scrapbooks, which she distributed to loved ones.
A Mother Theresa and Good Samaritan, Joyce was always the generous soul who met friends and strangers alike with a welcoming smile. She was a loving and devoted mother, a cherished grandmother, and a proud great-grandmother.
Joyce is survived by a daughter, Karen A. Stephenson (Paul), Hermitage; three sons, Daniel W. Gee (Deborah), Sharon, Gary O. Gee (Lisa), Fort Wayne, IN, and Jason D. Gee, Hermitage; a daughter-in-law, Lorraine Gee, Hermitage; a sister, Darlene Muszik, Hermitage; two brothers, Ronald D. Knapp (Jean), Kane, PA, and Wesley D. Knapp, Brookfield, OH; eight grandchildren, Sarah (Mike), Jon (Brittany), Tiffani (Kyle), Daniel, Jr. (Carly), David, Ciara, Isabella, and Olivia; and five great-grandchildren, with two more to join the family shortly. She was a wonderful aunt to her numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Joyce was preceded in death by a son, John Gee; infant twin daughters; three brothers, Richard L., James A., Sr., and Joseph Knapp, Jr.; a brother-in-law, Charles J. Muszik, Sr.; and a sister-in-law, Joyce E. Knapp.
