Obituary
Joshua Robert Ost of Masury passed away of natural causes at
4:14 a.m.
Thursday, May 19, 2016, in his home, after a prolonged illness.
He was 29.
Joshua was born August 22, 1986, in Sharon, a son of James R. and Heidi L. Pryce Ost.
He was a 2005 graduate of Sharon High School where he was a standout defensive tackle for the Tigers football team.
Josh, as he was known by many, was a counselor at George Junior Republic, Grove City, for five years and later served in the same capacity at the Yes Academy, Mercer, until May of 2014 when he was in a severe car accident.
He was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Fatima-St. Ann Church, Farrell.
Josh was a diehard Dallas Cowboy fan and enjoyed fishing. He had a heart of gold and loved children and animals.
Surviving are: his parents, Jim and Heidi Ost, at home; a brother, Jason S. Ost and his fiancé Alyssa Simion and their child Jason "JJ" Ost, Jr., all at home; his grandparents, Robert John "Jack" and Mary Ost, Sharon; an aunt, Wendy Albanese and her husband John, Hermitage; three uncles, Steven Pryce and his wife Trish, Gilbert, AZ; Joseph Ost and his wife Helen, Sharon; and John Ost and his wife Lori, Hubbard, Ohio; several cousins, including Jonelle Bausch, Jennifer Ost, John Ost, Cassie Glass and Weston Glass; an adoptive brother, Gary Paul and his family, Reynolds; and his Godfather, Nicky Commisso, Hartford, Ohio.
Josh loved spending time with his family, particularly his nephew and Godson, "JJ," who he affectionately called Gus.
Joshua was preceded in death by his grandfather, James Pryce; and an infant sister, Gracie Ost.
The family has asked that contributions be made to the funeral home.
Calling hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 22, 2016 , in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon.
Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 23, 2016, in Our Lady of Fatima-St. Ann Church, Farrell, with the Rev. Donald E. Berdis, pastor, as celebrant.
Interment: St. Anthony's Cemetery, Hermitage.
