Josephine A. DeBonis, Walnut St., Sharpsville, passed away peacefully at 7:35 a.m. Friday (9-24-10) in Nugent Convalescent Home, Hermitage following an extended illness. She was 84.
She was born on July 17, 1926 in Volant, Pa., the daughter of Diego and Rose Siciliano Reale.
A lifelong area resident, she worked at the former Westinghouse in Sharon where she would eventually meet her husband during WWII.
She married Anthony 'Tony' DeBonis on May 8, 1948.
Josephine worked in the Shenango Valley Mall for several years at the former Parklane Hosiery Store near the entrance of J.C. Penny's.
Along with her husband she belonged to the Church of the Notre Dame, Hermitage and was a member of its Ave Maria Society.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister, she enjoyed both baking and cooking for her family.
She leaves her husband Tony DeBonis at home, her daughter Carol Karol and her husband William 'Bill', Sharpsville, two sons, Donald DeBonis and his wife Bonnie, and Jeffrey DeBonis and his wife Tina, all of Chagrin Falls, Oh, her six grandchildren, Brian Schultz and his wife Tracey, Kaline Schultz and her husband Tom Adams, Adam and Sean DeBonis, and Sara and Kelle DeBonis, and her great granddaughter Phoebe Schultz. She is also survived by a sister Catherine Harshman and her husband Neil, North Richland Hills, TX, and two brothers, Peter Reale and his wife Elizabeth 'Lee' of Sharon, and Carmen Reale and his wife Val, Naperville Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Dominic Reale, and her son in law David Schultz.

Services: Friends are invited to join her family in celebration of her funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. on Monday (9-27-10) in the Church of Notre Dame 2325 Highland Road, Hermitage with Rev. Jeffrey J. Noble, pastor as the celebrant.
Interment: St. Rose Cemetery, Hermitage.
