Joseph F. Savoldi, 657 Westminster Rd., Hermitage, passed away Monday evening, August 13, 2012, in his home. He was 90.

Mr. Savoldi was born October 21, 1921, in Sharon, a son of the late John V. Savoldi and Domenica "Margaret" Cozzaglio Savoldi.

He was a 1939 graduate of Hickory High School, Hermitage, and a 1943 alumnus of Norwich University, Northfield, Vermont.

Mr. Savoldi also completed a Masters program at New York University and served as a Captain with the US Army Counter Intelligence Corps during WW II.

He was an active businessman and never retired. Among other businesses, he owned and operated J.F. Savoldi Food Company and later Savoldi Cheese Company, both West Middlesex.

Surviving are: his wife at home, the former Martha Kelley; three children, Lisa A. Daley and her husband William, St. Simons Island, Georgia; John B. Savoldi and his wife Gail, Lexington, Kentucky; and Maria J. Savoldi and her husband Darrell Williams, Amelia Island, Florida; four grandchildren, Benjamin W. Daley, New Haven, Connecticut; Isaac C. Daley, Rayna N. Daley and Erica A. Daley, all St. Simons Island, Georgia; a brother, Frank P. Savoldi, San Luis Obispo, California; a niece, Margaret Savoldi Censullo, also San Luis Obispo; and a nephew, Frank Savoldi, West Middlesex.
