Joseph R. Morocco of Farrell passed away at 5:43 a.m. Wednesday, November 28, 2018, in UPMC Horizon Hospital, Farrell, after a brief illness. He was 75.
Mr. Morocco was born October 19, 1943, in Sharon, a son of the late Joseph and Alice (Grande) Morocco. He was a 1961 graduate of Farrell High School and attended barber school in Erie.
Joe owned and operated the former Columbia Barber Shop in downtown Sharon for many years and also worked at various other barber shops throughout the Shenango Valley. He was also employed for 15 years at the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp.
A devout Catholic, Joe was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Farrell, and prayerfully lived his life. "Joe Brown," as he was known by his friends, enjoyed music, particularly the Big Band era and greats Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin.
Surviving is his brother, Michael Morocco, of Farrell; a nephew, Jerry Morocco and his wife Tammy, of Hermitage; a niece, Gina and her two children, of Seminole, FL; and three sisters-in-law, Virginia Morocco, of Hubbard, OH; Elaine Morocco, of Sharon; and Debbie Lucas, also of Seminole, FL.
Besides his parents, Joe was preceded in death by two brothers, Gerald and Carmen Morocco.
Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, November 30, 2018, in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon. F
Funeral Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday, December 1, 2018, in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Farrell, with Rev. Matthew Ruyechan, pastor, as celebrant.
Interment: St. Anthony's Cemetery, Hermitage.
