Joseph Lee McCollum, 51, of New Castle, formerly of California, passed away Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at his residence.

Joseph was born November 23, 1966, in Fullerton, California, a son of Bruce Lee and Mildred Andrade McCollum. Joseph attended Fullerton College.

Building and remodeling homes was one of Joseph's skilled hobbies.  While he was in Arizona he was one of the top ten home builders in the state.  Along with rebuilding homes, Joseph had a passion for playing the guitar. His personality and charm could light up the room.

Besides his parents, who survive him in Kalamazoo, MI, Joseph is survived by; his son, Joseph Lee McCollum II, New Castle; longtime girlfriend, Michelle Barrett, New Castle; Sister, Mary (Paul) Michaud, Alton Bay, NH; Two brothers, Christopher McCollum, Kalamazoo, MI; David (Susan) McCollum, Cleves, OH; and his niece and nephews; Alexis and Vincent McCollum; Ryan, Brandon, Keaton, and Jason McCollum.

Calling hour will be 10 to 11 a.m. Friday (09-14-18) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 111 W. Falls St., New Castle.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday (09-14-18) in the funeral home, with Rev. William Siple, as celebrant.

Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery.
