Obituary

Joseph Conticelli, 153 S. Crescent Dr. Hermitage, passed away peacefully at 4:30 a.m. on Saturday (11-8-08) in UPMC Horizon Hospital, Farrell, following a brief illness. He was 83.
Joe was born December 25, 1924, the son of John and Rose Stea Conticelli.
A lifelong area resident, he graduated from Farrell High School in 1942.
He owned and operated Conticelli Barber Shop in Sharon and has been a licensed Barber for over 65 years.
Mr. Conticelli was a decorated Army veteran of World War II and had served with the 164th Combat Engineers Unit, C Company, a unit committed to building bridges in war torn Germany.
As an outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, trout fishing, and gardening. In his later years he enjoyed cooking, canning and trying new recipes. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and many friends and especially his two grandsons.
His wife the former Irene Schultz whom he married on September 27, 1947, passed away on May 22, 2005.
He leaves a daughter, Jacqueline Conticelli, Hermitage, a son, John Conticelli, and his wife Karen, West Middlesex, a brother, Elio Conticelli and his wife Mary Ellen, West Middlesex, two grandsons Joseph C. Conticelli, Shippenville, and John T. Conticelli, West Middlesex.
In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, John Conticelli, two sisters, Lucy Conticelli and Millie Pruent.

Calling hours and services: In adhering to Joe's wishes, there will be no funeral services.
Cremation: Cremation will take place in the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. 1090 E. State Street, Sharon.
