Joseph P. Caszatt, 81, of Hermitage passed away peacefully with his wife by his side Wednesday afternoon, July 3, 2024, in his home.
Mr. Caszatt was born July 21, 1942, in Sharon, a son of the late Louis and Lois (Likens) Caszatt. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he was stationed in Germany for two and half years during his service.
For 29 years, Joe worked on the line at Sharon Steel's former Farrell plant. He later retired from Duferco Steel where he worked as a machine operator.
Joe was of the Christian faith.
He was a former member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Sharon.
An avid reader and book collector, Joe had a special affinity for history and also enjoyed genealogy. He loved spending time at home with his family, especially his grandchildren.
His beloved wife of 57 years, Elizabeth "Ann" (Mikulin) Caszatt, whom he married June 10, 1967, survives at their home in Hermitage.
Joe is also survived by a son, Steven Caszatt (Marianne), Marietta, PA; two brothers, Bill Caszatt (Vincie), Sharpsville, and Louis Caszatt, California; three grandchildren, Zachary Knapp, and Emma and Isaac Caszatt.
In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his daughter, Sheila Knapp; and three brothers, Tom, Everett, and Alvin Caszatt.

Funeral service will be immediately following at 5 p.m. Wednesday, in the funeral home, with his grandson, Zachary Knapp, officiating.
Interment: Oakwood Cemetery, Hermitage.
