Obituary

Jon S. Leckfor, Sharon, passed away at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 4, 2015, in his home following an extended illness. He was 54. Jon was born Dec. 1, 1960, in New Castle, a son of Bernard Leckfor and Ruth I. Cartwright Leckfor. In 1975, he graduated from Sacred Heart Elementary School, Sharon; and from what is now Kennedy Catholic High School, Hermitage, in 1979. Jon studied electronics and appliance repair and formerly worked as a home appliance repairman in Gaithersburg, Md. He also worked in the same capacity for Sears and J&E in West Middlesex. He was an active member, fellow, and past governor of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 55, Farrell. He belonged to Sons of the American Legion, Post 432, Wheatland. Jon was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He will be sadly missed. His wife, the former Mary Rose Zoccola, whom he married May 1, 2000, survives at the residence. He also leaves his father Bernard Leckfor, West Middlesex; his daughter, Ashley McKelvey, Vienna, Ohio; two sons, Shawn Tedesco and his wife Rhianna, West Middlesex; and Brandon Marley and his wife Jamie, Michigan; two sisters, Sherry Slater and her husband Ken, New Castle; and Sue Ann Copple, Arizona; his eight grandchildren, Antionio, Victoria, Chloe and Madison Tedesco; Jayden Clark; Payton and Austin Marley; and Athena Mott; three stepgrandchildren; and his two dogs, Barny and Misty. He was preceded in death by his mother and one grandson, Theodore Foltz, who passed away in 2013. Service: Funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Donna McConnell, World Christian Ministries, officiating. Interment: Haywood Cemetery, West Middlesex.
