John Edwin Workman, 94, of Shenango Township, passed away June 10, 2024, in his residence.

Mr. Workman was born November 28, 1929, in Ellwood City, a son of the late James Samuel and Hazel Mae (Rodgers) Workman, and was a 1948 graduate of Shenango High School.

John proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, reaching the rank of Corporal. After his discharge from the Army in October of 1959, John studied to become an electrician and was employed by Bessemer Concrete until his retirement.

On November 5, 1955, he married the former Elizabeth Muntean, whom survives at home.

A man of faith, John could always be found reading the Bible and listening to his favorite hymns. He also had a great interest in ancestry and enjoyed updating the family tree with new information.

In addition to his wife, John is survived by three sons, John Workman, Germany, Greg Workman (Sandy), Dayton, OH, and Daniel Workman, Salem, OH; a daughter, Janice Workman, Moon Township; a brother, Jerry Workman, New Castle; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Duane, William, and James Workman; and a great-grandson, Callum Workman.

A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday (6-15-24) in Harmony Baptist Church, 4103 Ellwood Road, Ellwood City, PA, 16117.
