A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 25, 2021, for John Z. Wlodarski, who passed away peacefully on Friday, March 19, 2021, with his family, and friend and caregiver, Selena by his side. He was 83.
John was born August 20, 1937, in Farrell, PA, a son of the late Joseph and Lottie (Zaborowski) Wlodarski. He was a 1956 graduate of Brookfield High School and attended the University of Cincinnati on a football scholarship. Mr. Wlodarski was a proud 55 year member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America. He served as past Union Steward and President of the former Local Union #268, Sharon.
He married Jean Ann George on May 27, 1961.
"Ziggy" was a lifelong resident of Brookfield, Ohio, where he raised his family with love and dedication. He modeled and instilled a strong work ethic to his children and grandchildren. He was always happy to lend a helping hand to family and friends in need. He attended his children's, grandchildren and great-grandchildren's sporting events, competitions and concerts.
John loved football and was a coach for the Brookfield Midget Football program for many years. He was an avid Cleveland Browns fan and attended many games as a season ticket holder. Deer hunting with family and friends was one of his favorite past times. He also enjoyed working in the garage, helping his family maintain and fix the fleet of cars that would show up for service. He passed on his passion and expertise of carpentry and construction to his children and grandchildren, helping many of them renovate their homes.
John was a parishioner of the former Church of the Sacred Heart, Sharon, PA and a member of St. Patrick Church, Hubbard, Ohio.
He is survived by his daughters, Julie (Tim) DeMay, of Fowler, OH; Jennifer (Brian) Wallace, who opened their Sharon, PA home to John after the death of his wife; Joy Squibbs, of Struthers, OH; Jody (Ron) Passen, of Millersport, OH; a daughter-in-law, Cheryl Wlodarski, of Hubbard, OH; a son-in-law, Phillip Cassidy, of Brecksville OH; 13 grandchildren, Timmy (Julie) DeMay; Adrienne (Marc) Fritz; Holly (Alie) Ruheim; Allie (Phil) Johnson; Nicole Wallace; Kelsey Wallace; Megan (Tim) Larman; Mikey (Mariah) Squibbs; Mason Squibbs; Jonathan Wlodarski; Jake Cassidy; Lydia Cassidy and Grace Cassidy; 11 great-grandchildren, Ava, Zane, Gabe, Luke, Caroline, Vivian, Olivia, Leah, Anna, Joey, Aria and Mila; his sister, Marlene (Jack) Smith; sister-in-law, Evelyn Wlodarski; and many nieces, nephews and godchildren.
Besides his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Jean; a son, John "Jay" Wlodarski; a daughter, Janice (Wlodarski) Cassidy; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Thomas and Rose (Bara) George; a brother, Bernard Wlodarski; and a sister, JoAnn (Wlodarski) James.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:00 PM, Thursday, March 25, 2021 at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, Sharpsville, PA and will be live-streamed for those unable to attend. To view the livestream or send online condolences visit www.McGonigleFuneralHomeandCrematory.com . Family and friends will be received from 1:00-2:00 PM at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church. Private entombment at St. Rose Cemetery following Mass.
