Obituary

John W. "Jack" Wilson of 503 Country View Rd. , Slippery Rock, PA. passed away on the evening of Saturday, March 21, 2009 at Jameson Hospital. He was 72.
Mr. Wilson was born in Wampum, PA. on June 20, 1936, a son of Herbert E. and Enid Davis Wilson.
He was a 1954 graduate of the former East Lawrence High School.
He served in the United States Army from January 24, 1955 to October 23, 1957, serving with the army security in Hawaii.
Jack currently owned and operated for the past 16 years, Wilson Farm Repair. Previously he worked for the former Riley Equipment Company for over 35 years. He also worked for Penn Power Co. from 1959 to 1962.
Mr. Wilson was a member of the Eastbrook Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed repairing John Deere Tractors, buying and refurbishing antique tractors. He was a life long farmer. Jack also served for 20 years as a member of the Laurel School Board.
He is survived by: his wife, Marian F. McCormick Wilson, whom he married September 11, 1974; a daughter, Amber D. Wilson at home; a son John P. "JP" Wilson, at home; a brother, David Wilson of New Castle, PA; a sister, Ruth Hermens of Bend, OR.
Besides his parents, Jack was preceded in death by, 2 brothers, Richard A. Wilson, and an infant brother James Herbert Wilson.
Calling hours will be on Tuesday, March 24, 2009 from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 p.m. at the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 111 W. Falls St. New Castle, PA
A funeral service be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Jason E. Schepp of Eastbrook Presbyterian Church
Internment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in New Castle.
