IN LOVING MEMORY OF
John
Rueberger
July 8, 1935 – March 27, 2019
John Rueberger, 83, of Hermitage, passed away Wednesday afternoon, March 27, 2019, in UMPC Jameson Hospital, New Castle, PA.
Mr. Rueberger was born July 8, 1935, in Ukraine, a son of the late Peter and Anna Marie (Fuchs) Rueberger. In 1951, his family moved to North Carolina and began working on a tobacco farm.
John was a hard working man and instilled a strong work ethic in his children. When he turned 18, he moved to the Shenango Valley and began employment at Sharon Steel's former Farrell plant, where he worked with the track gang. John was very proud that over his 40 years of employment, he only missed five days of work. He was also a professional painter and wall paper installer and operated his own business for more than 30 years.
He enjoyed time with his family, especially his grandchildren. John always looked forward to his nieces and nephews company and taking his boys fishing when they were young.
John was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Farrell, where he helped decorate and assisted Father Berdis on several projects.
He is survived by a daughter, Linda Rueberger Cole and her husband Michael, of Hermitage; two sons, Alexander Rueberger and his wife Theresa, of St. Petersburg, FL, and David Rueberger and his wife Cheryl, of Hermitage; five grandchildren, Theresa, Alayna, Megan, Michael (Taylor) and Matthew; two great grandchildren, Isaac and Lexi; a sister, Rosa Schibli, of Hermitage; and a brother, Alex Rueberger and his wife Carol, of Sharpsville.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by three brothers, Peter, Robert and Alois Rueberger.
The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to Our Lady of Fatima Church, 601 Roemer Blvd, Farrell, PA 16121.
Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Monday (04/01/2019) in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Farrell, with Rev. Matthew Ruyechan, pastor, as celebrant.
