He was a lifelong area resident and a 1944 graduate of Sharon High School. Jack, as he was known by his family and friends, served as a radio operator with the United States Army Air Force during WWII. Following his honorable discharge, Jack attended John Carroll University, University Heights, OH, where he received his bachelor's degree in 1951.

Jack was employed by the Westinghouse Electric Corporation for 37 years and retired in 1985 as the plant manager of the Camp Reynold's division. Following his retirement, he enjoyed working as a funeral directors assistant at the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Sharon.

Jack enjoyed a good round of golf and was a member of several leagues throughout the years, including the Westinghouse Men's retiree's league at Tam O' Shanter Golf Course, Hermitage.

He was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks, Lodge 103; and a former member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 684, both Sharon.

Jack was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, and his greatest joy was the time he shared with his family. A consummate gentleman, he will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

His wife, the former Sally Grace Tierney, who he married on September 3, 1949 in St. Columba Cathedral, Youngstown, Ohio, survives at home. They recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
