John "Uncle Johnny" P. Podolan of West Middlesex went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 4, 2016. He was 63.

Mr. Podolan was born August 22, 1953, in Sharon, a son of John and Katherine (Gem) Podolan.

John was raised in Farrell and attended the former St. Anthony's Parochial Grade School and graduated from Farrell High School in 1971. He was a former member of St. Anthony's Church, Sharon and worked for the former General American Transportation Corp (GATX), Masury.

John was quite the history buff. He loved listening to the radio, reading the yearly farmer's almanac, going for nature walks, and remising with his brothers. The quality time he got to spend with his nieces, Rebecca, Annette, Sarah, and Erin, was what he enjoyed most in life.

Surviving are: two brothers, Joseph Podolan, Sharpsville; and Michael Podolan, Hermitage; six nieces, Rebecca, Annette, Sarah and Erin Podolan; Maria Podolan and her husband Rick Deakins; and Michelle Podolan; a nephew, Samuel Podolan; and a great nephew, Maksym Deakins.

John was preceded in death by his parents; a sister-in-law, Gail Podolan and a niece, Nicole Podolan.

The family suggest memorial contributions be made to St. Anthony Church, 804 Idaho St., Sharon, PA 16146.

Calling hours: 12p.m. until the time of service Saturday (10/8/2016) in St. Anthony's Church, Sharon.

Funeral Mass will be 1p.m. in St. Anthony's Church, Sharon, with Rev. Joseph Campbell, pastor as celebrant.

Interment at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel.
