A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday for John T. Penolo, formerly of Wheatland and Farrell. He passed away at 4:35 a.m. Easter Sunday, April 5, 2015, in Avalon Springs, Coolspring Township. He was 68. Mr. Penolo was born Aug. 8, 1946, in Farrell, a son of Guy T. and Rose M. Doddato Penolo. He was a lifelong area resident and a graduate of Farrell High School. John was employed as a caretaker for Monsignor Geno J. Monti Parochial Grade School, Farrell, for nearly 20 years and previously worked at the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp. He was a member of Our Lady of Fatima-St. Ann Church, Farrell. Surviving are a niece, Sharon Snyder Calahan, Naples, Fla.; a nephew, Michael J. Snyder, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; an uncle, Anthony Doddato, Farrell; and many cousins. John was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Rose E. Penolo Snyder; and a brother, Carmen Penolo. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Our Lady of Fatima-St. Ann Church, 601 Roemer Blvd., Farrell, PA 16121. Calling hours: There are no calling hours.
