John Franklin Nicely of Edinburg passed away at 5:10 p.m., Wednesday December 21, 2011 in Edison Manor. He was 66.

Mr. Nicely was born on October 2, 1945 in Blaine, TN, the son of Paul Raymond and Della Slagel Nicely.

Following high school he attended college for a period of time. John was employed for Sprint and Centel Corporation for many years as a contractor.

He was of protest faith. John was a wonderful cook; he enjoyed fishing, and was an avid golfer. John had a kind heart and was wonderful with animals; he will be missed by his cat Louie.

John is survived by; his wife, Barbara Foster Oskowski Nicely, whom he married, April 4, 2004. A daughter, Sandra Ellen Latty of Illinois; 2 step sons, Ronald and his wife Evelyn Oskowski of Austintown, OH and Richard Oskowski of Sarasota, FL; a grandson, Kyle Knott; 2 step grandchildren Kylee and Bradley Oskowski.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his second wife Barbara Sue Nicely.

There will be no calling hours or funeral service.
