John T. McCloskey

John T. McCloskey, 55, of Ellwood City, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes Friday afternoon, April 10, 2026, in his home.

Mr. McCloskey was born December 2, 1970, in Brockway, PA, a son of James “Bert” and Judy (Armanini) McCloskey. After graduating from Riverside High School in 1989, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force.

John served his country for 20 years, first as an M.P. in the U.S. Air Force, and later in the same capacity as a member of the National Guard of Pennsylvania, retiring in 2010.

He was currently working as an electrician at Tenaris Koppel Tubular Corp., Koppel, PA.

A die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan, John was also a loving father and adoring “Papa,” who cherished every moment he spent with his grandchildren.

He is survived by two daughters, Gabrielle McCloskey, of New Castle, and Claire McCloskey, of Ellwood City; his beloved fiancée of 18 years, Vicky Dean, with whom he made his home; his mother, Judy McCloskey, of Ellwood City; four grandchildren, Ariah, Za’niah, Avori, and Apollo; three brothers, Patrick McCloskey, Sr., Kenneth McCloskey, and Don McCloskey; a niece, Brianna; and a nephew, Patrick, Jr.

John was preceded in death by his father, James “Bert” McCloskey.

In keeping with his wishes, all services will be held privately amongst family.

Military honors will be rendered by the New Castle Area Honor Guard.
