John "Jack" F. McCart, 82, of New Castle, formerly a 40 year resident of Riverside, California, passed away peacefully Friday afternoon, May 10, 2019, in Jameson Care Center.
Mr. McCart was born October 29, 1936 in New Castle a son of John J. and Marie G. (Johnson) McCart. He attended St. Mary's Parochial Grade School and later, Union High School.
Jack retired in 1999 after working as a self-employed painter for more than 20 years. Previously, he worked as a welder at Mesta Machine in New Castle.
Jack was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, New Castle.
He enjoyed camping, traveling and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.
His wife, the former Nancy L. Burchett, whom he married June 21, 1957, in Wesley United Methodist Church, survives at home.
Also surviving are two daughters, Janice L. (Jeffrey) Jackson, of St. George, UT, and Lisa D. McCart, of Sacramento, CA; a son, John C. (Katherine) McCart, of Spartanburg, SC; eight grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; a sister, Mildred "Millie" E. Kelly, of Visalia, CA; and a brother, George E. (Vera) McCart, of New Castle
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia M. McCart; and a brother, James McCart.
In keeping with Jack's wishes, there will be no calling hours.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday (5-13-19) in Wesley United Methodist Church, 1204 W. Washing St., New Castle, with Pastor Bill LaVelle, officiating.
