John Lazorishak, South Pymatuning Twp., passed away peacefully of natural causes at 8:43 p.m. Wednesday (10-7-15) at Juniper Village, Sharon. He was 99. He was born October 12, 1915 in Pueblo, Co, one of two sons born to Frank Lazorishak Sr. and Julia Namisnyk Lazorishak. In 1935 John served with the Civilian Conservation Corps. A decorated veteran of the United States Army, John entered the service on May 5, 1941 and was honorably discharged October 16, 1945. He served in N. Africa and France during WWII and received the American Defense Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, the American Theater Service Medal, The European African Middle Eastern Service Medal with five Bronze Stars and one Bronze Arrowhead. John enjoyed a long retirement from the former Sharon Steel Corporation's Farrell plant and he was happy to have received more from the Social Security Administration then he paid in. To say John loved the outdoors would be an understatement. He traveled to the Rocky Mountains in Colorado for big game hunting and to Lake Erie for walleye fishing. He was a gun expert and loved to tell hunting stories. He was a member of the Western Reserve Fish and Game Protective Association, East Lackawannock Twp. His first wife the former Helen Roberta "Bert" Kelso passed away in 1975. His second wife the former Irene Marie White whom he married July 29, 1978, passed away on July 17, 1995. He is survived by his two nephews David Lazorishak and his wife Pam, Brookfield, Ohio, and Frank Lazorishak III and his wife Debbie, Lorraine, Oh, and one niece, Karen Lazorishak, Columbus, Oh. He is also survived by his siblings, Ted Lazorishak Bell, formerly of Hermitage, Marye L. Sulesky, Patagonia area of Hermitage, and Julie Radkowski, of Maine, and two step daughters. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Frank Lazorishak Jr. His family suggests that anyone wishing to make a memorial donation in his memory to please consider Club Pet 20 Schaller Rd, Transfer, PA 16154.
