John H. "Jack" Kerr, age 84, of Garfield Heights, Ohio; formerly of New Castle, passed away peacefully Saturday, October 13, 2012 in his home with his family by his side. Mr. Kerr was born February 11, 1928 in Pittsburgh a son of the late Harry and Jean Herzer Kerr. He moved to New Castle at an early age and attended the former St. Mary's Grade School. Jack was a retired carpenter from the city of Garfield Ht's. and was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He was the last of the original founders of the Parbuster Golf League and a member of the VFW, Post 3445 and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Aerie 2217, all Garfield Ht's. Surviving are: his loving wife of 62 years, the former Patricia Dugan; four children, Steven Kerr and his wife Marie, North Royalton, Ohio; Judy Angiocchi, Robert Kerr and Susan Fisher and her husband Ray, all Garfield Ht's.; twelve grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren whom he cherished; and a brother, Bob Kerr and his wife Jerri, New Castle. Besides his parents, Jack was preceded in death by a son, John; two sisters, Jeannie and Joan; and a brother, Harry. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Calling hours will be from noon until 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 16, 2012 in the J.
