John "Jack" Jurina, a longtime Farrell resident, passed away at 10:34 p.m. Sunday, November 18, 2018, in UPMC Horizon, Farrell. He was 82.
Mr. Jurina was born October 8, 1936, a son of John and Elizabeth (Missik) Jurina. He was a 1954 graduate of Farrell High School and served in the U.S. Army in 1955 and 1956 in Germany.
Jack was employed by Public Finance Corp. in Youngstown, Ohio as a branch manager for 26 years.
He was a faithful member of the former St. Ann's Church in Farrell from childhood and continued to be a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church, also Farrell. Jack was an avid boater and loved his faithful companions, Doberman Pinschers, which he had for many years.
He is survived by two cousins, Barbara Vranich and her husband Charles, of Sharpsville, and their son, Chuck; and Carol Williams, of Brookfield, Ohio, and her daughters, Diana and Dawn.
Jack was especially grateful for the special kindness and assistance he received from his neighbors and friends, Randy and Birdie Barkovich; and his primary care physician and neighbor, Dr. Anthony Elisco.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
There are no calling hours. Funeral Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Friday, November 23, 2018, in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Farrell.
Interment: St. Ann's Cemetery, Hermitage.
