John J. 'Yunk' Hoyson, 831 Spearman Ave., Sharon, passed away of natural causes at 8:30 a.m. Friday (1-30-09) in the hospital of the Sharon Regional Health System following a six month illness. He was 55.
Mr. Hoyson was born Oct. 25, 1953 in Sharon a son of John and Shirley Patterson Hoyson.
He was a 1971 graduate of Sharon High School and was employed at the former General American Transportation Corp. for ten years.
Yunk enjoyed billiards, cooking and was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Surviving are five sisters, Pamela Hrabosky and her husband 'Dr.' Jerry, Sharon; Patty Foore and her husband Bill, Hermitage; Frankie Lawhorne and her husband Gary, Moore, SC; Kim Gardner and her husband Tim, Sharpsville; and Cindy Elavsky and her husband Fred, Sharon; and a longtime partner and best friend, Linda Reese, Sharon.
Yunk was preceded in death by his parents who both passed away in 1992.
A celebration of life gathering will take place from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday (2-03-09) in the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon
