John 'Jack' Neal Hardesty, 2000 Orangeville Road, Hermitage, passed away at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday (2-17-09) in UPMC Horizon Hospital, Farrell. He was 75.
He was born on November 3, 1933 in Millbrook, Pa., the son of John and Genethalyn Bastian Hardesty.
He attended Sandy Lake High School.
Jack was the owner and operator of Hardesty Towing Service for 50 years and along with his wife he owned and operated the Tow Bar in Sharon for 20 years.
He enjoyed collecting Classic Cars and traveling with his family who will dearly miss him.
Jack will be remembered for his kindness and generosity as he enjoyed helping others no matter what the need or time of day they called.
He served with the United States Army.
His wife the former Toula Karidis Hardesty whom he married on May 1, 1989 survives at home.
He also leaves his children Lori Ann Hivner and her husband Douglas, Hubbard, Oh; Jack Neal Hardesty, Hermitage; Joy Simkunas and her husband Ronald, Illinois; step children Olga Jones, Covington, Ga; Stella Karidis, Hermitage; and Stephen Karidis and his wife Joye, Upper St. Claire area of Pittsburgh; four sisters, Mary Hutto, Macon GA; Roseann Cowden, Lizella, GA; Louise Hunger and her husband Helmuth, and Josey Hockenberry and her husband Jeff, all Grand Junction, CO; two brothers, Daniel Hardesty and her husband Billie, Franklin, Pa; and James Hardesty and his wife Barbara, Farrell; seven grandchildren, four step grandchildren, and one great granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by a daughter Sandra Allison, and one brother, Andrew Hardesty.

Services: 11:00 a.m. Saturday (2-21-09) in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jeffrey M. Harter, chaplain for Family Hospice and Palliative Care officiating.
Interment: Oakwood Cemetery, Hermitage.
