John E. "Jack" Gall, 91, formerly of Temple Avenue, passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2016, at Golden Hill Nursing Home.
He was born in New Castle on Dec. 27, 1924, to the late John and Anna Pastor Gall.
John was a graduate of Union High School.
He served in the Navy during World War II aboard the destroyer USS Jeffers.
Jack retired from REMACOR Corp. and had worked previously for Mathews/Rexnord Inc. as a die setter for 27 years.
Jack married the former Maude M. Reed on Aug. 16, 1948, and she preceded him in death on Sept. 5, 2012.
Jack and Maude loved to dance and enjoyed many years of dancing at both the Eagles and the Moose clubs to which they were members. They were proud to be the top prize winner several times at the Old Timers Day competitions.
Jack is survived by his daughter, Cindy M. (Alan) Prince of Poland, Ohio; his son, Jack (Georgann) Gall of New Castle; and a grandson, Aaron J. Gall.
He also leaves his stepgranddaughter, Nichole (Noah) Wayt; his stepgrandson, Danny Prince; and two stepgreat-grandchildren, Arison and Michelina Wayt.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two sisters, Patty Zerbst and Gloria Rich; and a brother, Ron Gall.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 111 W. Falls St.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home by the Rev. Donald Reed. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will conduct military rites prior to the service.
Burial will be in Castle View Memorial Gardens.
