John E. Frederick, Jr. 76, of Brookfield, OH, passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2024, in the Hospice of the Valley, Hospice House, Poland, OH.

Mr. Frederick was born on March 23, 1948, in San Francisco, CA, a son of the late John and Anna May (Cyphert) Frederick, Sr. At a young age, his family moved to Brookville, PA, where he graduated in 1966. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam War, in the U.S. Air Force as a bomb loader.

Upon his honorable discharge, John began working in Oil Field Construction, where he remained until his retirement several years later.

John was a 47-year Free and Accepted Mason, Lodge#529, Cortland, OH.

He is survived by two daughters, Karyn Gerke and her husband Lynn, Garrett, IN, and Kelly Anderson and her husband Jason, Buckley, WA; three step-children, Merilee Siege and her husband Tim, Pamela Giroski and her husband John, and Robert Kapsa, Jr. and his wife Sandi; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife, the former Paula Armstrong, whom he married on July 12, 1985; a step-daughter, Wendy Shuttleworth; and two sisters, Sharron Lingenfelter and Judy Dempsey.

Calling hour will be 1 to 2 p.m. Friday (12/27/2024) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 East State St., Sharon.

Funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. Friday, in the funeral home, where there will be a Masonic Service and Military Honors.
