John H. Donaldson, 73, of West Middlesex passed away Saturday morning, October 20, 2018, in the emergency room of UPMC Horizon Shenango Valley, Farrell.
Mr. Donaldson was born April 2, 1945, in Sharon, a son of the late Bernard and Frances (Sheesley) Donaldson. He was a 1963 graduate of Sharon High School and proudly served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War era. Following his honorable discharge, John owned and operated a heating and air conditioning company. Later, he was employed more than 30 years as a pipefitter with the steamfitters, local #449, Pittsburgh, retiring in 2007.
John was a longtime member of the VFW Post #6233, West Middlesex; and the American Legion Post #432, Wheatland. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren's sporting events and taking long drives. John was happy being around people, entertaining guests or helping a friend who needed a hand.
He is survived by his wife, the former Carol Glaser, whom he married on October 13, 2015; a daughter, Nicole Hayne and her husband Dan, Greenville; two sons, Kurt Donaldson and his wife Yvette, Niceville, FL; and Kevin Donaldson and his wife Lisa, West Middlesex; a step-daughter, Susan Parker, Pulaski; seven grandchildren, Kole, Myrissa, Garrett and Delaney Donaldson; Bennett and Reagan Hayne; and Maggie Milton; a brother, Mark Donaldson and his wife Jean, Sharpsville; and a niece and nephew, Megan and Cody Donaldson.

Calling hours will be 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday (10/23/2018) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 East State St., Sharon.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday (10/24/2018) in the funeral home with Rev. Robert Glaser, officiating.
Interment: Haywood Cemetery, West Middlesex.
