John W. Daugherty, 63, of Sharpsville, passed away on Wednesday afternoon, December 25, 2024, in UPMC Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA.

John was born on August 8, 1961, in Farrell, a son of the late John and Leona (Means) Daugherty. A lifelong area resident, he was a 1980 graduate of Sharon High School. Following high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army National Guard, serving more than 20 years.

He was a longtime employee of the former Shenango Valley Mall. Upon the mall's closure, he began working at the Avalon at Buhl, where he eventually retired.

John was a collector of dragons and meticulously cleaned and cared for his car. He also enjoyed playing computer games and winning prizes for his nieces and nephews on claw machines.

He is survived by a sister, Patricia Chesmer, Sharpsville; three brothers, Robert Daugherty, Sharpsville, Daniel Daugherty, Sharon, and Michael Daugherty and his wife Mary, California; and several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

There will be a graveside service and military honors at 2 p.m. Friday (01/03/2025) in the chapel of Mt. Washington Cemetery, Jefferson Twp.

Interment: Mt. Washington Cemetery.
