John Cremonese, 2076 Evergreen Dr., Boiling Springs, South Carolina; formerly of Euclid Ave., Sharon, passed away at 8 p.m. Friday (12-2-11) in The Hospice House, Spartanburg, South Carolina after an extended illness. He was 82.
Mr. Cremonese was born February 17, 1929 in Sharon a son of the late Ralph and Concetta DeMaio Cremonese.
He attended Sharon High School and then served with the US Army in Japan.
John retired in 1984 as a supervisor in Plant 2 of General American Transportation Corporation's former Masury plant where he was employed for twenty years.
John was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Church, Boiling Springs and a former member of St. Joseph Church, Sharon. He enjoyed woodworking.
Surviving are: his wife of 57 years, the former Dolores A. Schosser, whom he married July 17, 1953; a daughter, Tammy Bechtel and her husband Todd, Sharon; two sons, Ralph D. Cremonese and his wife Holly, Boiling Springs; and John W. Cremonese, Boise, Idaho; six grandchildren, Matthew, Cory and John Cremonese; and Jaclyn Eckley and Brittney and Andrew Baker; and a sister, Caroline Lanschak, Sharon.
Besides his parents, John was preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Cremonese.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to a hospice organization of your choice.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday (12-9-11) in St. Joseph Church, Sharon, with the Rev. Glenn R. Whitman, pastor, as celebrant.
Family will receive friends one hour prior to the Mass in the gathering space of St. Joseph Church.
