Obituary

John Alan Bornes, 570 Carley Ave. Sharon, passed away unexpectedly at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2012, in the emergency room of UPMC Passavant Hospital, Cranberry with family by his side. He was 63.

Mr. Bornes was born August 10, 1948 in Sharon, a son of the late Louis and Mary Polochak Bornes.

He was a graduate of Sharpsville High School. Following high school, John obtained his Bachelors Degree in Metallurgy from the State University of New York.

John was employed at Shenango Metals for a number of years and was the Vice President of Sales for Greenville Metals. Recently he was self employed as a consultant for a number of different metal corporations through out the country.

He was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Joseph's Church. John enjoyed reading, traveling to the beach and Cleveland to the St. Paul's Shrine. Most importantly he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Surviving are: his wife, Susan Ferrara Bornes, whom he married August 21, 1976; 4 children, James Bornes of Sharon, Christina and her husband Keith Sechler of Sharon, Jessie Bornes of Sharon, and Brian Bornes of Sharon; a sister, Mary Ann Jones of S. Pymatuning Twp.; a brother, Richard and his wife Connie Bornes of Wexford, PA; 9 grandchildren, Isabella, Rocco, Bryanna, Jossilin, Keith John Allen, Gabriella, Jax, Ireland, and Victoria. John is also survived by his mother-in-law, Jeanne Ferrara; also Heather Bornes and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by a brother, Louis Bornes; a brother-in-law, Ralph Jones; a father-in-law, Joseph Ferrara.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.

Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, April 9, 2012, in the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 in St. Joseph's Church with Rev. Glenn R. Whitman. Everyone is asked to go directly to the Church.
