Johanne Ziegler

Johanne Ziegler, 77, of Union Twp., passed away surrounded by family on Friday morning, July 24, 2026, in her home.

Johanne was born March 22, 1949, in Drumheller, Alberta, CA, a daughter of the late John and Nancy (Simms) Bordyniuk. After emigrating to the U.S., she later graduated from Union High School in 1967.

For many years, Johanne worked as a lab technician at Northside Hospital in Youngstown, OH.

An exceptional cook, she loved to prepare meals for the entire family, especially during the holidays. Johanna also enjoyed playing Wordle with her sister, Nancy, and following her grandchildren’s games via radio broadcasts.

Johanne is survived by four children, Jason Ziegler (Kerri), of Sandusky, OH, and Kameron Ziegler, of Canfield, OH, Ronald Ziegler (Kathy), of Poland, OH, and Lori Ogden (Bo), of Campbell, OH; two sisters, Nancy Bordyniuk and Kathy Bordyniuk, with whom she made her home in Union Twp.; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Johanne was preceded in death by two brothers, Peter and John Bordyniuk; and a nephew, Stephen A. Brunswick; and a family pet cat, Sammi.

In keeping with her wishes, there will be no public services.

Johanne left this world exactly as she lived in it – stubborn, funny, and absolutely convinced she was right.
