Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday for Joanne Taylor 897 Crowder Ave., and formerly of Sherman Ave., both Sharon, who passed away peacefully at 9:02 p.m. Wednesday (1-28-09) at her residence following a brief illness. She was 75.
She was born on November 2, 1933 in Follansbee, West Virginia (Brooke County), the daughter of Paul Adrian and Thelma Predergast Muldowney.
She was a member of Hickory High Schools graduating class of 1952.
A homemaker, she had worked for several area businesses over the years including the former Sharon Store, and the Former Shenango Inn, both Sharon.
She was a member of the Church of Notre Dame, Hermitage.
Mrs. Taylor was a decorated veteran of the United States Navy having received the good conduct medal and the American Service Medal. During her tour of duty she worked as a chaplain secretary and was recommended for reenlistment after her honorable discharge in 1956 due to her excellent service record.
Her life was devoted to her family and she enjoyed sports as she loved to root for Notre Dame Fighting Irish, the Cleveland Browns, and the Cleveland Indians. She also enjoyed reading and gardening.
She was a member of the former Loyal Order of the Moose, Sharon, and was a former member of several local American Legions.
Her husband Edward P. Taylor whom she married on May 10, 1958, passed away on August 11, 2001.
She is survived by her six daughters, Mary Maureen Franks, Wheatland; Patricia Lynne Snider and her husband Charles, Sharpsville; Jacqueline Taylor at home, her twins, Kathleen Brodie and her husband Rickie, Richmond, Va.; Michaelene Bryant and her husband Bryce, Evans City, Pa.; and Shawn Erin Taylor, West Middlesex, Pa.; one sister Alice Ann Muldowney Reiner, Sharon; one brother John T. Muldowney, Liberty, Ohio; 16 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son John Patrick Taylor on April 3, 1999, a grandson Keith Joseph Franks on May 25, 1998, and four sisters, Patricia Ann Muldowney, Regina May Clark, Rosalie Hanley, and Mary Jane Muldowney, one brother Paul A. Muldowney.

Services: Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday (1-31-09) in the Church of Notre Dame, Hermitage, with Rev. Jeffery J. Noble pastor as celebrant.
Interment: St. Mary's Cemetery, Hermitage, with full military honors provided by the Sharon Honor Guard.
