Joann E. Tishov, 92, of Sharon, passed away Saturday, February 20, 2021, surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Tishov was born March 10, 1928, in Sharon, a daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine (Martin) Eskay. She attended the former St. Joseph's Parochial Grade School, Sharon and was a 1945 graduate of Sharon High School.
Joann began playing organ at age 17 and played for St. Joseph's Church, Sharon and retired in 2008 as the organist at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, Sharpsville. In her younger years she was employed as a secretary at the former Sharon Builders.
She devoted her life to her Lord and her family. Joann was a lifelong member of St. Joseph's Church, Sharon.
She shared her love of music by giving private piano lessons in her home as well as the former Sebastian Music, Hermitage.
Her husband, Adam J. Tishov, whom she married October 29, 1955, passed away January 20, 2018.
She is survived by three daughters, Katherine May and her husband Bradley, of Sharon, Ellen Kosick and her husband Tom, of Grove City, and Margaret Artac, of New Castle; two sons, John Tishov, of Brookfield, and Denis Tishov and his wife Maureen, of Greenville; eleven grandchildren, Adam, Evelyn, Sarah and Elizabeth May, Thomas, Katherine and Joseph Kosick; Patrick Artac, Marissa Baptiste, and Macey and Kayleigh Tishov; and five great grandchildren, Alixander and Benjamin Bates, Jay McKissick, Roman Baptiste and Logan Guerrieri.
In addition to her parents and husband, Joann was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Ann Tishov; a son-in-law, Gene Artac; and a sister, Mary Ellen Weiss.
The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Due to health concerns, all services are private.
Interment: St. Rose Cemetery, Hermitage.
