Mass of Christian burial will be Saturday for Jerome M. Jurenovich, formerly of Meadowbrook Road, Hermitage. He passed away Friday, July 31, 2015, in San Antonio, Texas, where he resided the past four years. He was 88. Mr. Jurenovich was born June 3, 1927, in Farrell, a son of Peter "Pete" and Katherine "Katie" (Gojceta) Jurenovich. He was a graduate of Sharon High School and served with the Army Air Corps during World War II. Mr. Jurenovich was a machinist at the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp., where he was employed for nearly 40 years until the plant's closing in 1983. He then worked at General Motors' Lordstown plant for seven years, retiring Sept. 1, 1992. Jerome was an active member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Sharon, where, over the years, he was a member and past president of the Holy Name Society; sang in the church choir; served on the building and grounds committee; and worked on the church picnic committee. He also loved music and drama and was particularly proud to have played the role of Jesus in the Passion Play production at St. Anthony's Church. Jerome enjoyed renovating his home and making improvements throughout the years. An avid hunter and outdoorsman, in recent years he also became proficient on the computer. He was a member of Croatian Fraternal Union and the former Kennedy Christian High School Boosters Club. Jerome was particularly proud of his Croatian/Dalmatian heritage, traveling on numerous occasions to visit family throughout Croatia. Surviving are his wife, the former Mary E. Rudolph, whom he married June 18, 1949; a daughter, Mary Beth Natoli and her husband John, St. Louis; two sons, Dr. David M. Jurenovich, San Antonio; and Jerome M. Jurenovich, Atlanta; three grandchildren, Ryan Natoli, Chicago; and Christian and Matthew Jurenovich, both San Antonio; and a brother- in-law, Walter Popovich, North Tonawanda, N.Y. Jerome was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, John "Chic" Jurenovich; and a sister, Evelyn Popovich.
